Beware those bearing “social media gifts.” It’s easy to be sold a bill of goods for a hot new social media solution, but far harder to make it work. If you’re thrown an idea/service/project, make sure it fits your business model. Especially US/European tools/services that probably have not been tested in Asia/emerging markets. This lady lost not only $$ but her reputation by making too fast a move into Groupon. It may work for some, but just because it works for others doesn’t automatically mean it’ll work for you too.
